"Just Before Sunrise" (Ref. 081) is a seascape (40x40 cm) that captures nature's bated breath just a moment before dawn. Ruggero Ruggieri masterfully uses the black acrylic background to enhance the brown and amber tones of a restless and majestic sea. The palette knife intervenes decisively on the crest of the central wave, sculpting the foam with a light that seems to spring directly from the dark depths of the canvas. The deliberately limited and precious color palette makes the work unusual and modern, transforming the marine landscape into an almost abstract and sculptural vision.
