Ruggero Ruggieri chooses an "unnatural" yet extremely refined palette, working exclusively within shades of ivory and dark brown (moro). The rugged coastline of the Cinque Terre is sculpted with a palette knife, allowing the hardness of the dark rock to emerge from the light mists rendered in ivory tones.
